How to: greet some one, ask how they are doing, and say good-bye

Step 1: To say hello to another person: ¡Hola!

*Do not pronounce the “h”

*It should sound like “ola”

Step 2: To ask some one your name: ¿Como te llamas?

*Two l’s make a y sound

Step 3:To ask someone how they’re doing: ¿Como te llamas? Or ¿Que tal?

*The word “que” is pronounced “kay”

Step 4: In response to ¿Como te llamas? Or ¿Que tal? Or ¿Como te llamas? you would reply ¿Y tu? Which means and you?

*The “y” is pronounced like the letter “e”

for example in the word see

Step 4: In reply: Mucho gusto or if someone replies to you by saying mucho gusto then you would reply Igualmente.

*Igualmente= (e-gwal-e-ment-ay)

Step 5: To say good-bye: ¡Adios!
